Staying in Touch –
at a safe distance!

Well it is time to reveal who the Blond Butterball is.
The interview with “Butterball” had some technical problems so the sound quality is not the best but I hope you can still enjoy learning more about butterball and her art.
There’s also is a chance to win one of six “Crazy Cats” 2021 Calendars. Just watch the video and answer the following questions:
1. Where in Scotland did “Butterballs” mother come from?
2. What was the little boy in the park looking at?
3. What was the shape of the canvases used for the “Ring” paintings
Send the answers to danceaday@rscdsottawa.ca and if you have the correct answers and are one of the first six to reply, a calendar will be sent to you.
Some of us arose early from bed very early on a May morning in 2016 and made our way to Parkdale United Church to appear on CTV Ottawa’s Morning Show. We have a clip of one of the 4 segments we filmed that day. (Lots of coffee was consumed in the making of the segments)
Some of you may have already seen the video of Sinead and John Kerr’s Scottish Figure Skating. I have included the same dance done a year later at the Euro Skating Championship Gala. Hope you enjoy.
And finally some quotes from Grandchildren about their Grandparents. I know we are all looking forward to being able to have them in our houses and most of all hugging them again.
Stay Well.
Enjoyed the interview with Heather Bale very much. It was great to see her paintings and think how lucky we are to have her do many of our posters. The CTV clip was fun to see- none of you looked sleepy so the coffee must have worked! The figure skating was fantastic. Thanks for putting this together Charlie.
To answer your questions, 1. Galdrie(? Sp) in Fife, 2. A spider and 3. Round.
Fascinating, Chatlie
Gauldry in Fife, a spider, and circular. Loved to see your work, Heather – I am definitely a fan of your flowers. So glad you and Charlie put this together. (My grandmothers both came from Kirkcaldy in Fife, but I don’t know Gauldry. And I had a swimsuit just like yours!)
Terrific, I am fortunate enough to have Heather’s calendar. What a talented lady she is.
It is really great to see “our Heather” again! Dawn and I have a copy of her 2021 Crazy Cats calendar which we enjoy every day. We also have two of her original paintings of the cats in that calendar. They are miniatures, so we have hung them on the brick wall in our family room for daily viewing.
Heather is such a treasure to our Branch. You are also a treasure Charlie – thanks for arranging this interview with Heather.
Wow Charlie – you have it a home run again. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Thanks also to Heather Bale. Heather, your pictures are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Hope we get back to dancing soon.
